Currently I am piloting Hitachi StarBoards and software on Mac OS.X laptops as part of a one year assessment program in a junior / senior high School. This pilot also includes the use of iPads on a 1:1 basis for students.
As of the next academic year we are considering installing IWBs on a rolling basis throughout all homerooms in the school as well as providing all students with their own iPad. (Again to be implemented on a rolling basis.)
With these two things in mind, I am very interested to know if Hitachi is currently working with any developers to design an application which allows students in a classroom to access the StarBoard over a wi-fi network, presumably through the computer connected to the board, with their iPad or indeed iPod touch or iPhone. Of course Hitachi does produce its own tablet devices, but given that the students will all have iPads and the school is committed to using these devices and we are looking for a software/hardware package that will support them.
Any information regarding this will be very helpful.
